Letting someone into your home is a matter of trust, so it’s a completely reasonable question to ask before booking: are the cleaners actually vetted, and what does that mean in practice?
What background checks involve
Every Cleaning Services CPT cleaner is interviewed and background-checked before being offered work, in line with standard South African screening practice for anyone working inside a private home (see the SAPS police clearance certificate process). This isn’t a box-ticking exercise, it’s the first filter for who we allow into a client’s home.
Training beyond the interview
Passing a background check is the starting point, not the finish line. Cleaners are also trained to our specific standard, so the quality of a visit doesn’t depend on who happens to show up.
What insurance actually covers
Insurance protects you in the rare event something goes wrong during a visit, giving you recourse beyond just an apology. It’s a basic expectation for any legitimate cleaning company, not an optional extra.
How to verify this with any provider
Simply ask. A company with nothing to hide will answer clearly and specifically. See our full hiring guide for more questions worth asking before you book.
